Randomeme Answers

In response to a challenge from Rebecca at Skepchick, I posted a list of six random things about me. While I was at it, I added a seventh, made-upitem, and asked you all to try and guess the fake. In case you’ve forgotten in the meantime, here’s the list:

1) I was in a college play in which I was in drag for the first scene, but in a police uniform for the rest of the show. Afterwards, the father of one of the cast members asked “what happened to the cute girl in the orange dress?”

2) I did not masturbate for the first time until after I lost my virginity.

3) At a different college, I won an award for an essay I wrote about how, when I was growing up, my father and I watched the Philadelphia Eagles play football every Sunday. I later learned that my father didn’t particularly care for the Eagles, but we lived in South Jersey, so those were the only games that were reliably available on television.

4) I have never voted in a presidential primary.

5) At my bachelor party, I got so drunk that I passed out on the loading dock of my apartment building. I got frostbite from the concrete floor, and lost several square inches of skin on my buttocks and back.

6) Before we knew we were having a girl, my wife and I were planning to name our possible son “Darwin.”

7) I worked for an adult video website for 18 months prior to law school.

And the first guess was actually the correct answer. DataJack guessed correctly that number five was the fake. In reality, my wedding was on a very warm weekend in June, and I didn’t have a bachelor party. Congratulations DataJack. As a prize, you get the satisfaction of destroying any illusion I had that I was sneaky or mysterious.

In case you’re not counting, that means that the other six things are actually true. Questions about them will be entertained in the comments.
