Sometime this evening, I’ll be installing the newest WordPress build, version 2.6. I’m nobody’s IT professional, so expect the site to be down for a bit, and some kinks to work out once everything is in place.
I managed to update my WordPress install, with far less mucking about than I anticipated. Sometimes, things go better than expected. Praise astronauts.
Please join me in welcoming a new author to the Suburban Panic! bomb shelter. Scooter Grant is a friend, law school colleague and veteran blogger. Nobody knows exactly what sinister plans are percolating in her brain*, but we’re excited to have her participating in this project.
The Suburban Panic! hostel for the slightly deranged is happy to welcome another long-term guest. Waldorf Van Buren is an old friend and sometime artistic collaborator, as well as a contributor to a previous iteration of this website. He also has a paralyzing fear of llamas, which I can’t stop myself from bringing up every time I have to describe him to a third party.
Please join the staff of the Suburban Panic! Society For Precision Grammar Sciences as we welcome Camilla Carter to the faculty. Camilla is an old college friend, and a contributor to an earlier, less salubrious version of the site. Her hobbies are shut up, that’s what her hobbies are. Welcome back, Camilla.
Since we’ve brought our new authors on board, you may have noticed some changes in the posts coming through your favorite feed reader. We’re updating more regularly, and the average post length is growing like a rogue Trapper Keeper.
In order to keep the RSS and Livejournal feeds from turning into a screen-killing torrent of word doom, we’re going to switch to syndicating summaries of the entries. You’ll have to click through to the site if you want to read the full-size posts.
Unless there’s a big a uproar, in which case we’ll think of something else.
EDIT: Okay, I lived with it for a few hours, and I can’t stand the arbitrary way the post summaries just cut off in mid-sentence. I’m going back to including the full text in the feed. I am giddy with my minuscule power.

Sorry for the double post this morning. I made a stupid mistake that kept the comic image from publishing the first time around. I’m still getting the hang of the webgnomery.
